Garden City, SC is a beautiful, little section of beach just south of Surfside Beach, and just north of Murrells Inlet. Though the majority of Garden City is in Horry County, there is a section of Garden City located in Georgetown County as well. Though the property taxes in the Georgetown County section of Garden City might be slightly lower than the Horry County residents, there is a smaller selection of homes for sale in the Georgetown County section, most of which are on, or very near the ocean, making their prices a little higher. Because of this prime location, it is very difficult to find a home for less than $350,000 in the Georgetown County section of Garden City. This area falls within the Waccamaw school district in Georgetown County, and includes communities such as Inlet Pointe and Inlet Harbour.

Because the Horry County section of Garden City is larger, it offers properties in a wider price range. Of course the price for similarly located properties in the Horry County section of Garden City are comparable to the Georgetown County section, with homes on the beach or close to the beach carrying higher price tags. Residents of this section of the Grand Strand are mostly in the Seaside Elementary and St. James Middle and High School districts. Garden City offers several miles of beachfront, lined with numerous public beach access points. There is also the Garden City Pier, Sam’s Corner, and great local seafood restaurants located in the Garden City area. Salters Cove and Myrtle Dunes are just a couple of the communities in which you may want to look when searching for a home in the Horry County section of Garden City.
